Aya Velase is a ready to wear womenswear brand founded by Durban born Ayanda Mthembu, a former David Tlale intern.

Through the use of symmetry, Aya Velase places emphasis on precision and shows off craftsmanship with carefully carved lines to create feminine silhouettes. From crop tops with scalloped hems, to blouses with artfully layered frills in white, oxblood red, burnt orange and tawny brown, Aya finds a balance between conceptual and functional.
